A cute conversation

Here's a conversation that took place in Nana and Papa's kitchen the other night.

SCENE: Nana, Papa, and Ayda are eating dinner. Mimi is going through Nana's cupbords looking for cornstarch.

PAPA: Why are you even cooking here...why can't you bake in your own home?

MIMI: Oh, I'm so sorry you don't like my presence in your life.

AYDA: Mimi, I like your presence in my life!

MIMI: THANKS AYDA!

NANA: I think Ayda means presents, not presence.

Summer in the Park

Last night Nana, Mama, Grandma and I went to Chapin Park in Bangor to hear some music. Mimi met us there!

I was dressed up wicked cute. Check out my happenin' bows...

There were LOTS of scary clowns in the park. I avoided them like the plague (whatever that is...)! One of them made me this bug out of balloons. (The wings popped.) I made my cousin Lexy to get it for me from the scary clown. She's so brave! With the wings off I thought it looked like a toothbrush and proceeded to brush Mimi's teef while in line for an ice cream. My imagination is awesome!

The Piece du Resistance....ICE CREAM! They were almost out when we reached the front of the line. I usually like chocolate but all they had was butter cream. It was pretty good....

This is my favorite swim suit. I haven't had much of a chance to wear it yet this summer, but Daddy has taken me into the pool a couple times.
I just love the little pink flower in the duckies 'hair', don't you? It makes her look so sophisticated!

Mama says her favorite view is the back-side...
I wonder why?

Mimi day!

I know it's been a while since I posted a blog...but I've been so busy! Daddy finally got the lumber for the deck and he's been workin' real hard on it. So hard in fact that Mimi took me for the day on Sunday while Mama was at work.

Mimi came to pick me up in the mornin' and we went back to her house to play with the toys in her toy basket and watch "Sleeping Beauty" -- my favorite movie. I like to sit on this special cat mat that Merri-Bethy has. She even cleaned all the cat hair off of it for me! We had some crackers for a little snack.

After that Mimi took me to the fabric store. She's makin' some pillows and needed some supplies. I was so polite that I made sure to thank the cashier lady when we left. It's fun using my manners!

Then we went to pick up grandma and Mama to have lunch. I had peanut butter toast, of course! Check out this cool necklace Mimi got me at the craft store! Grandma helped me string the beads on it. I love that it has a frog on it.

After lunch I helped Mimi do some grocery shoppin' and then we headed back to her house to take a nappy -- which I DID NOT take. I did lay down for a while, but I was singin' to myself and playing with Mimi's stuffed animals. It's hard to fall asleep in a new room when there is so much to look at!

At 5 pm Nana came to pick me up and take me home. I was glad to see her but I sure did have fun with Mimi. I made sure to be an extra good girl for her so Mama and Daddy would be proud!

Vacation in Stonington!

Hi guys! Guess what? I'm in Stonington! In case you don't know, Stonington is on an island called Deer Isle. So far it's the funnest place I have ever been. Here's why...

1. EVERYONE is here! Well, Mimi went home today and Uncle Jeffy is coming later this week.

2. There's a beach across the street! And there are LOTS of shells on that beach for me to collect in my pail.

3. Crabs. I haven't seen any yet but I wanna!

4. I get my OWN ROOM in the house.

5. There's lots of grass and room for Papa and Daddy to fly kites.

6. Golf! I love golf dontcha know...Mimi got me a little kid golf set and I love to play with it inside.

7. LOTS of time to paint and color. There's no tv and that means no toons.

8. There's a PIANO in the house! I like to play it and I like to dance when Mimi plays it.

That's all I can think of right now. We just got there and there is just so much to do. I love walkin' down to the beach in my flip flops. The water isn't too cold but I doubt I'll go swimmin'. We're planning on taking a ferry to another island tomorrow called Isle au Haut. I hope Daddy doesn't get seasick!

Trip to Bar Harbor

The weather was so nice today that Mimi, Mama and I decided to take a road trip to the coast. Daddy stayed home and worked on the new turkey house.

We took a picnic in the park down by the ocean. I wanted to go swimmin' but the water was TOO cold. Mama and I spent some quality time throwing rocks instead.

There was a BIG BOAT in the ocean, too!

We took a stroll through town, too. I had on the cutest dress. Here I am chillaxin' and looking for my boobies...

We had such a busy day and the sun was so hot that I feel asleep in the car on the way home in no time. I refused to let go of my box of animal crackers, though. Those suckers are yummy!

All in all it was a fun day!

SNAKE!

Guess what I found in the garden yesterday? A BABY SNAKE! I just love snakes. I have lots of plastic ones to play with. I like to run around and pretend that the snake is biting my loved ones. They scream EW! and I laugh -- especially Uncle Jeffy. He HATES snakes!

I thought the baby snake was cute...but I scared it away. I AM a big girl ya know...but not big enough to touch it. Papa held it out for me but I only wanted to poke it with a stick...which no one let me do. Maybe next time I'll be a little bit braver...

A trip to Ellsworth!

My family loves Ellsworth. It's not too far away but it's a road trip -- and you know I love a good road trip. While Mama and Daddy were in Castine for their anniversary, I stayed with Nana and Papa! On Friday we three plus Mimi decided to get out of Dodge and head to Ellsworth for the day.

We had lunch at our favorite place...The Riverside Cafe. I shared Papa's breakfast meal with him. I really love toast and eggs! AND I went pee pee in the big girl potty just like I did the last time I was there!

The Grasshopper Shop is one of my favorite places to play in Ellsworth. Check out this cool hat I found!

Just call me Helga Sue!

We also went to Reny's. Nana bought me these cute little boats for my bathtub and pool. I think they're so neat. I played with them the WHOLE way home. I have a very vivid imagination.

I was really glad to see Mama and Daddy when they got home from their second honeymoon...but I had a really great time with Nana and Papa. I always do!

Princess Aurora and her Big Girl Bed

By Mimi

Ayda loves Princess Aurora aka: Sleeping Beauty, or as Ayda says it "Seepin' Beauvy." She also likes to pretend she is Princess Aurora.

Jennie was away for work on Monday night and Ayda slept at Nana and Papa's house cause John goes to work so gosh darn early in the morning. Instead of setting up her play pen, Nana and Papa let her sleep on the futon like a big girl. She loves that room because Nana has firefly lights around the windows like little night lights.

Ayda lied down with John for a while, then she yelled for Nana to go read her a book. She was fussing so Nana and Papa brought her into their bed for a while. At about 10:30 pm, Papa brought Ayda back to the futon where he laid down with her for a little while. The following dialog took place:

Ayda: Papa -- we're in a castle!
Papa: We are?
Ayda: Yah! And I'm Princess Aurora.
Papa: Ok -- then close your eyes like Princess Aurora and go to sleep.
(Ayda closes her eyes.)
Ayda: Papa -- I'm Princess Aurora.
Papa: I know -- close your eyes.
Ayda: Papa. Papa!
Papa: What?
Ayda: KISS ME!

To which Papa, aka: Prince Charming did, and left her to go to sleep.
