Milestone

Today was a big day at our house, because today was my FIRST day of SCHOOL!

I've been waiting for this day to come for a long time now. Everyone's been talking about it for so long, I thought it would never come!

This is what I wore today....

... doesn't corduroy just scream "first day of school"? Mumma and I thought so.

And this is my new backpack.

It's just my size! I packed it up all by myself last night. It has an extra set of clothes, some crayons, and my lunch bag in it. Yea, that's right- I get to bring my lunch! Mumma let me make that all by myself too.

Once we got to my school, Mum took this picture

and then we went inside to say "Good morning" to Nana in the office. She was pretty busy with all those other kids and their parents, so Mum and I walked down to my classroom where Mrs. Lynch was waiting for me.

She's very nice and has yellow hair- which I'm very happy about.

I hung up my pack and my jacket in my VERY OWN cubby and then insisted on washing my hands to prepare for the day.

Mumma stayed for a little bit until I felt comfortable, and then I sent her off with a kiss and a hug and assured her I would be ok and would tell her all about my day when I got home. I think she might have felt like crying, but she was a big girl and held it together.

I'm pretty sure this school thing is gonna be awesome.

Mimi's Gettin' Married

Mimi is getting married and last weekend we had a party for her at Nana's house. It was so much fun! Mama, Nana, and our friend Heather and her mama, Ginny, made delicious food and decorated the house for all of Mimi's friends.

My cousin Lexy came and so did Aunt Sally! In fact, Sally spent the night at my house! Can you tell what I'm eating in this photo? Nana ordered a fruit bouquet thingy and I'm eating a pineapple flower on a stick! Brilliant!

I was such a good girl and didn't even ask Mimi if I could open any of her presents. She did give me all her pretty bows and ribbons, though. I just love a good party...
