Ol' Eagle Eye

**As told by Mumma**

I've often wished that I could be a fly on the wall at Ayda's daycare. She comes up with such fabulous songs and stories and is always telling me 'facts' about her friends or embarrassing stories Tammy or Twila (the ladies who run daycare) have shared with her that day. Problem is, I never know what's true versus what her version of 'true' might be. Often she's not far off, it's just the details that slip her mind sometimes. Needless to say I was delighted to get this story from Tammy this morning:

Ayda and her friends have been watching a family of eagles via satellite for the past couple weeks. The nest has had eggs in it and they were watching to see them hatch. Everyday the kids would ask about the sole adult eagle watching over the eggs, "Is that the Mumma, or the Daddy?" and Tammy, not being an eagle expert, would shrug and tell them it was probably the Mumma.

One day they tuned into the nest and low and behold, 2 adult eagles were there to greet them. "The Daddy is there!" someone said, which for some reason got the response, "I think that that is a Grandpa eagle." Ayda puffed right up, put her hands on her hips, and said, "Do you see any glasses on that eagle?" And indeed, the other kids saw no glasses. "It can't be a Grandpa without glasses!" Apparently no one argued with her.

Later that day Twila was reading a story to the kids that had some animal characters in it, and wouldn't you know, one of them had glasses. Ayda got very excited- "SEE?! Now that's a Grandpa!"

Flower Girl

Did you know that I am going to be a flower girl in Mimi and Shane's wedding? Well I am. And so is Shane's niece, Rianna. Mimi and I had a date on Friday night and we went to look a dresses. I picked out this one...but Mimi wasn't too keen on the sequins....

I tried on another one that she had picked out, but it was soooooo boring. Everyone told me how cute I was but I told Mimi that I felt ugly.

So the next day, Mimi and I went back to the store with Mama and Nana in tow. They picked out this dress....

But I still liked the other one! No one was listening to me! I thought it was terribly unfair but Mama did have a good point....we needed to find a dress in both MY size AND Rianna's size....and the one with the pearls fit the bill. The hat? Not so much. It was just for trying on.

I felt bad that I pitched a fit in front of Mimi -- it is her wedding after all. I said to Mama when we got back in the car "I'm sorry I said those rude things about that dress. I'll wear it." Then I apologized to Mimi too. I am a big girl after all. And when I tried the dress on for Papa he told me I looked like a princess...which is what I'm going for so I was pretty happy.

This is NO 'April Fools'!

Hooray, hooray! While Mother Nature was playing a sneaky trick on us on Friday (we got 12-15" of SNOW)Mumma, Daddy, and I set up my new BIG GIRL BED! It looks just like a princess bed, doesn't it?!

It even fits more than one person.

I even got to pick out my own sheets! I made sure that the colors went just right with the awesome quilt Mimi made me. It's so bright and cheery, there's no way I'm gonna wake up on the wrong-side-of-the-bed now.
And the best news is, I haven't even fallen out in my sleep yet!
