Mimi had a Mardi Gras party this past Saturday. I have no idea what Mardi Gras is, but I got to wear a cool outfit and beads so it was ok with me.
Check out my mask! I painted it my own self. Everyone was wearing one so it was kind of fun. We took a vote on whose mask was the very best. Nana asked me who I wanted to vote for and I said ME of course!
This is a picture of Mike and Aunt Whats-Her-Face. I can never remember that her name is SALLY -- so I call her Lisa even though I know that's not her real name. These masks sorta freaked me out a little bit to tell you the truth.
We ate gumbo, chili, crab cakes, and King cake! And you KNOW how I love cake!

Big Girl Moments
This weekend, I was nothing but a BIG GIRL! I've been doing really well with the potty- especially this week- so Mama said I could go shopping with her and pick out some REAL.BIG.GIRL.PANTIES!
I told her I really wanted ones with dolphins on them. There's just something about dolphins... don't you think? But we couldn't find any like that. So I settled for some Princess ones, instead. They're pretty spectacular.
I guess Daddy must have felt the 'Big Girl Fever' too, because last night while Mumma and I read a book, he turned my crib....
... into a big girl bed!!
It was so cozy, and I only fell out twice. Mumma says it's a learning curve, and that I won't fall out forever. Of course, Daddy put some nice soft padding on the floor so that I wouldn't hurt myself.
I was so comfortable and happy in my big girl bed, that I didn't even want to get out this morning!
I really think I'm gonna like being all grown up... even if it does make Mama a little sad. She'll get over it.
xoxo

Public Service Announcement
For some reason, the videos here on our blog, do not always want to play. They like to tell you that they are 'unavailable'... like they're super busy, or something.
I learned how to trick them, so I'm sharing it with you all.
If you jump to an old video, say "Pahnaytoe...eee", and watch that one (even for just a millisecond)- and then jump back to the front page of the blog to watch the new videos- it works.
I don't know why, I'm not a computer genius... I just know it works when I do it.
A hassle, I know. But sometimes I just REALLY need to hear 'Eye of the Tiger'.

Rock Star
A little while ago Mumma and I were driving to go see Mimi at work, when a masterful piece of music burst onto the radio. I was so taken, that I demanded Mumma 'Turn it up!'
And that is when the magic began...
For those of you not versed in either Rocky III or lyrics by the band Survivor, the words to this little ditty are as follows: Eye of the tiger, the thrill of the fight! Rising up to the challenge of our rivals.
I think this speaks volumes about my arduous 2.5 years on this planet, don't you?
And then of course, just to top off my little performance here, I've given you all a taste of my Christina Aguilera trills.

Arts n' Crafts
Last night Papa and I worked on an arts n' crafts project. We put together a birdhouse! Papa cut out all the pieces and helped me pound in the nails. He left the gluing up to me and I did a really good job! I wore my handy Home Depo smock so I wouldn't get any glue on my clothes. I'm responsible.
We put all the pieces together and then we had to let it dry. I was bummed because I wanted to start painting my birdhouse green. Papa said that I could go over to his house after daycare today and Nana would have all sorts of paints set up for me to use. This is exciting! Once I'm done paintin' it I'm gonna put some hay in it and Papa is going to put on the roof. Then Daddy is going to hang it outside where I can see it from a window.
I think it'll make a good house for a little birdie. Check out my nail poundin' skills. Papa pounds those nails in so hard and it's really LOUD! When I cover my ears like this Daddy says I remind him of Mimi. I wonder why....?

Mama's Birthday
Mama had a birthday party on Tuedsay night at this new restaurant in Bangor. Mimi and Alyssa planned it for her -- nice girls! I wore my pretty sunflower dress for the occasion.
I decided to bring my art project from daycare that day to dinner, incase there wasn't entertainment. The groundhog goes up and down!
We had cupcakes for desert and I helped Mama blow out the candles!
All in all I have to say I was a very good girl. I showed people my dance moves, my new Dora watch, and was very polite saying "excuse me" when I wanted to interrupt a conversation. I'm growin' up I guess....
Ayda.

Busy, busy, busy!
I have been SO DARN BUSY lately!
Going to dance classes, making new friends, practicing good potty manners (most of the time), celebrating Mumma's birthday, making messes, helping Daddy fix his snowmobile, and just... plain... getting... bigger!
Clearly I'm turning into a sophisticated lady, because I can really pull these off!
I picked them out of Mumma's closet all on my own. I think they really high light my pokie dots.
Mumma says I'm a real menace to society with all I've been up to these days... I think she's using this picture as physical evidence.
So unfair!

What time is it?
When Ayda saw her new friend's Dora the Explorer watch, she instantly said she needed to have one of her own. And strangely enough, Nana found one at the new Big Lots store in town this weekend and brought it home for her.
She excitedly showed it to me the other day. When I asked her what time it was she looked at her watch and said "Oh, 30 inches."
It was too cute.
