Trip to Ellsworth

Last weekend Mama, Mimi, and my new friend Annie took a trip to Ellsworth for some lunch and shopping. I was so excited to see Annie that I started chanting her name: Annie! Annie! Annie!

We went to Riverside Cafe -- a family favorite -- for lunch. It was really yummy and they had lots of toys for me to play with. My favorite was this plastic alligator. I even knew what it was called! I didn't want to get too close, though, lest he chomp down on my little fingers.

The best part of the whole day was, of course, dessert. Mimi and Mama shared their pumpkin cheesecake with me. It was sooooo good! And it came with whipped cream - my FAVORITE! I used a big girl spoon and fed myself.

After dessert I told Mimi that I had to use the potty -- so she took me to the bathroom and I went pee pee on a big girl toilet! Everyone was so proud of me. It was kinda hard but I did it.

Then we went to Rooster Brothers where I wanted to touch everything in sight. We went to a shoe store that had shoes that had kitty faces on them...funny!

My favorite store was a toy store that had a real live pirate ship in it for kids like me to play on. It was so much fun I didn't want to leave.

Next stop was the Grasshopper Shop, which ALSO had a lot of toys to play with. Annie and I did some easy listening to Brazilian Lounge music. It made me wanna dance.

On the way home I fell asleep -- just like Mama wanted me to! What a great day!

Off to the races!

On Saturday Mama, Mimi, and I went to the Kenduskeag Canoe Race! We met Mimi at her house and took a nice walk down to the river to have a picnic lunch- it was so nice and sunny out!
There were lots of people out to watch the boats go down the river, and you know what else? A moose. Mama and Mimi didn't believe me when I shouted, "Moose! Moose!" but I wouldn't lie about something as important as that! Mama said we could stop and see him AFTER our picnic. Needless to say, I really scarfed down my PB&J.

This is me giving Bucky the Moose a high five. Shortly after this, he hit me in the head (by accident) and I fell to pieces in Mamas arms. I think he felt really bad, but it scared me! Mama looked worried that I was crying, so I've been reassuring her since Saturday night that the moose was sorry.

We didn't really get to see too many boats, but I was pretty good at pointing them out to Mimi and Mama- see?

We had a good day by the water. I even took hoof along for the ride.

Afterwards we went to get ice cream sandwiches and brought one over to Grandma. I think she liked it... but we were both ready for a nap! Me and Grandma have so much in common :)

A Big Help

I am a super helper! I helped Nana pick up her old sticks to tote away. I even sang a little song like those 7 munchkins or trolls or whatever they are. Thank goodness Nana has me around!

'Nigh, nights!'

Now that I'm sooo old (I'll be 2 in 4 weeks, ya know) my motherly instincts have really kicked in.
I don't carry my little doll around by the head anymore- unless I'm mad at her, and I always make sure the baby Baba gave me is tucked in tight in her own special crib.
Sometimes I even take care of Marley. I like to cover him up and tell him to go "nigh, nights". He usually listens... I think.

"April Fools!"

This morning I pulled my very first 'April Fools' joke!
Actually my master plan started last night when Mama and I came home from daycare. Once we parked the car and let all the animals out, I sprang into action! I walked (mostly by myself) over to Nana and Papa's house and asked Mama to let me drive Papa's big yellow truck. She slipped off my boots and plopped me in the drivers seat... everything was going according to plan! I 'drove' the truck for a bit, beeped the horn, opened the glove box and used a napkin on my nose (don't worry Papa, I put it back in there for you to use later), and generally used up time so that Mama would get impatient. It worked like a charm! As Mama was circling the truck to come fish me out, I took the un-supervised opportunity to turn on Papa's headlights. It stays light out much longer these days, so no one even knew!
The best part of this April Fools prank was this morning. When Papa went out to start his truck, guess what? It wouldn't go! He had to do some silly dance with Nana's car and some cable thingies.
Aren't I the funniest?!!
