**As told by Mumma**
I've often wished that I could be a fly on the wall at Ayda's daycare. She comes up with such fabulous songs and stories and is always telling me 'facts' about her friends or embarrassing stories Tammy or Twila (the ladies who run daycare) have shared with her that day. Problem is, I never know what's true versus what her version of 'true' might be. Often she's not far off, it's just the details that slip her mind sometimes. Needless to say I was delighted to get this story from Tammy this morning:
Ayda and her friends have been watching a family of eagles via satellite for the past couple weeks. The nest has had eggs in it and they were watching to see them hatch. Everyday the kids would ask about the sole adult eagle watching over the eggs, "Is that the Mumma, or the Daddy?" and Tammy, not being an eagle expert, would shrug and tell them it was probably the Mumma.
One day they tuned into the nest and low and behold, 2 adult eagles were there to greet them. "The Daddy is there!" someone said, which for some reason got the response, "I think that that is a Grandpa eagle." Ayda puffed right up, put her hands on her hips, and said, "Do you see any glasses on that eagle?" And indeed, the other kids saw no glasses. "It can't be a Grandpa without glasses!" Apparently no one argued with her.
Later that day Twila was reading a story to the kids that had some animal characters in it, and wouldn't you know, one of them had glasses. Ayda got very excited- "SEE?! Now that's a Grandpa!"
