It's spring time and you know what that means? Time to get outside and plant the gardens!
Gardening is hard work...
...especially when your Nana just sits around while you do all the dirty work!
Happy Spring!

6 Tasty Little Friends...
Mommy and Daddy got me some new friends!
On Thursday, Daddy and I went and picked up 6 Cornish Cross chicks. We've been waiting FOREVER for them, so I was pretty excited to go and get them. We're still waiting for our layers to come... they weren't quite ready to leave their Momma yet. I can't blame them, I guess. These little guys won't be around for too long, unfortunately for them. But I bet they're gonna be tasty!
Here's a picture of the chicks in their temporary home... why won't they let me sqeeeeze them?! I can hardly stand it!
Nana helped me name these little guys. The big one in the front is Ala King. The one closest to my hand is N'dumpling. The two in the back are Sweet and Sour (Sour's actually quite nice, by the way) and the one to Ala King's right, is Soup. You can't see Marsala because she's hiding behind Ala King- she's pretty camera shy.
I wanted to get a closer look at Soup, so Nana tried to hold him... he's so flappy!
I think it's so funny to hear the chicks peep! Peep, peep, peep! All day long!
Daddy is almost done building the chicken coop he and Grandpa Sonnenberg started at the beginning of the month. He calls it the Chicken Palace-
I call it F-U-N! I can't wait to lift the hatch to the nest boxes and find some eggs... yuuummm.

Mama & Daddy's new godchild!
This is Cadillac Walsh. He is a baby Nigerian Dwarf Goat. Uncle Jasper said that Caddy will only grow a couple more inches. Crazy! There wasn't any godparent ceremony or anything, but Mama & Daddy promised to take care of the little goat should anything "unfortunate" happen to his parents.
Uncle Jasper and Auntie Bryn also have lots of horses -- which I was quite taken with. Mama thought I was going to be scared of them but I'm not scared of anything! I reached right out to play with Boo's scruffy bangs. Auntie Bryn said that she'll teach me to ride Boo the pony someday. Sweet!

Peek!
I love watching Ayda Sue grasp new concepts and learn new things. The other night Jennie and John had Nana, Papa, and me over for a delicious dinner of grilled shrimp and broccoli cheese raviolis. Ayda was standing in front of her high chair holding on to the tray. I was standing behind it and Papa was sitting on the couch. Ayda bent her little knees to crouch down and popped back up into the standing position screaming "oppp!" and continued to do so using a variety of screaming sounds. She was playing Peek-a-Boo! What a smart little lady!

Mother's Day
We went to the Lucerne Inn for Mother's Day again this year. Mama got me this pretty new dress that I simply adored! Aren't we just the cutest little family? Mimi calls us the "Sonnenberg Trio."
This is a photo of four generations. Great Grandma is giving me a sweet kiss! What a nice view of Lucerne Lake huh?
I was getting antsy sitting in my high chair and wanted to walk around. I'm very interested in stairs now-a-days. Mama and Daddy are not so interested....
My sweet Nana!
I just love this dress!
I think I'm going to start walking pretty soon. I'm getting better and better and pulling myself up and holding on to things like coffee tables while taking side steps. I think I'm pretty awesome....

It's been a while -- and I'm one-years-old now, btw...
Mimi hasn't made a blog post for a while -- but don't blame her! She has a new job and is moving to Portland soon. But we're not going to talk about that because I don't want to be sad today....
So instead we're going to talk about my first birthday! Yay! Grandma and Grandpa Sonnenberg have been in town for a week to help celebrate. I have been having a lot of fun with them. Daddy got me a red wagon with big tires for my birthday and I love being pulled around in it. It's so much fun and I really like going FAST! A bunch of my favorite people came over for my party including the Lundy's, Kristen, Aunt Sally, the Sumner's, Lily Chandler, and Tammy and Riley!
This box that I'm sitting in was from Nana. She filled it with clothes -- a lot of them she sewed herself! I've been trying them on for size for months now so I'm glad I can finally wear them. But my favorite part of the gift was the box. I just HAD to sit in it.
Mama got me these sunglasses and boy do I need them! My big blue eyes can't take the bright sunlight and I get all squinty!
Daddy and Grandpa put up the railings on the deck and cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for everyone. Papa got me a baby swing and i can't wait to try it out! Grandma Sonnenberg brought lots of presents from my New York family -- I wish they could have been there for the party. I was such a good girl and I had on the prettiest pink dress. I'll have to get Mimi to put up some photos of my beautiful dress....
