Yesterday was my very first ever dance class!
Mumma and Daddy took me to this really fun place called 'Between Friends' where Miss. Rachel taught us how to dance ballet AND tap!
I think Mum and Dad were pretty nervous at first, cause they aren't allowed to come in and dance too... or maybe they were just jealous?
Either way- it only took me a minute to make new friends and shake my groove thing with them!
I can't wait to go back next week!

Making New Friends is Fun!
It really IS!!
This is my new friend Abbey. She's Mumma's friend Alyssa's little cousin.
Mumma, Daddy, and I went out for Mexican food with Alyssa, Nate, and Abbey the other night. Abbey was pretty shy at first, but we managed to break the ice on a potty break. Hey! What can I say?! We are girls, after all!
Abbey has some of the coolest things ever! Like a Dora watch and a baby sister! Is she the luckiest girl in the world, or what?!
We had so much fun that night- that we went shopping and out to lunch together the next day. I hope she comes to visit again soon.

"Sugarmalt"
On Tuesday when I dropped Ayda off at day care she excitedly told me this in the car:
"Mama! I'm gonna show Tammy my Sugar malt!"
I wasn't really sure what this was... so I furrowed my brow and cocked my head to one side.
"My sugarmalt flip, Mama!" and she stuck her arms straight up in the air.
"Ooooh!" I understood now.
Ayda has been working on her somersaults, and although they're kinda floppy and sideways, we've been making a big deal out of her progress at home.
As soon as we got through the door Ayda was shouting to Tammy to watch and putting her head on the floor to 'sugarmalt'. I barely managed to get her on a padded surface before she was throwing herself over.
Silly Monkey.

Horse-drawn sleigh ride
Jingle bells! Jingle bells! I went on a sleigh ride through the woods today with Nana, Papa, and Mimi!
These are our horses, Ben and Bill. I did NOT want to get too close to them. They were huge!
These were the other horseys -- equally as huge!
The place we went to was called Leonard's Mills. Papa bought out tickets in the Blacksmith's Shop. They had a stove goin' in there so it was really warm. I spied a Dunkin' Donuts box from across the room and promptly went over to ask the lady if I could have a doughnut. I have good eyesight.
Nana brought some wool blankets and we put them over our legs on the ride. A tree branch brushed against Papa's head and I thought it was funny. It didn't hurt him or anything....
There was this nice covered bridge on the path between the parking lot at the Blacksmith's Shop. I thought it was pretty neat. So did Papa. This is my 'cheeseball' smile.

New Games
By: Aunt Mimi
Ayda has been using her imagination and coming up with some new games to play. I'll describe them for you in case you visit and she wants to play....
Peter Pan:
This game involves Nana & Papa's bed as the ship.
Ayda = Wendy
Mimi = Peter Pan
Nana = Nana the dog (obviously)
Miles = Tinkerbell
Papa or Daddy = Captain Hook
Mama = Tigerlilly
How to play:
Peter Pan and Wendy fly around the house and escape to the ship to get away from Captain Hook and the alligator who will, if we're not on the ship, bite our toes off. On the ship we have knife fights with Captain Hook and Peter Pan must shield Wendy from all harm.
Baby:
This is a weird game in which Ayda starts crying "Waaaa Waaaa. I'm a baby. I can't talk." And whoever is around treats Ayda like a baby, rocking her and feeding her and helping her to stand and walk. Sometimes the game is reversed and you are required to be the baby and Ayda is the Mama. She will change your diaper, make sure you are not scared, and leave you and go pretend shopping. Some mom....She tried to give me "medicine" last week in which she forced me to sniff one of those VapoRub nose sniffers. When you are a baby you have no choice....
Tea Party:
Ayda can play this game for hours. Literally. She will serve you tea (water) and will put in cream, sugar, whatever you ask for! She takes napkins and puts bibs on some of her toys -- Ernie, giraffe, and Elmo to name a few. She will also feed her friends Teddy Grahams and sneak them into her own mouth. She will also combine Tea Party with Baby and make you feed her pretend applesauce while she cries "Waaaa waaaaa." Hours of fun!

Aw Man!
Ayda's new saying, in a whiny tone, is "Awwwwww Man!"
No one knows where it came from.
Last week I had Ayda for the morning while Jennie and John were at work. We were driving around and we came to some work trucks. Ayda asked me what happened. I told her it looked like a tree branch had fallen on on the power lines and had broken them...to which Ayda said "Awwwwwww Man!" I assured her that the men in the trucks were going to fix them no problem.
It's funny seeing such a melodramatic saying come out of such a small face.

Christmas photos
Here are some long awaited photos from Christmas! More to come soon from Papa's camera...
Ayda absolutely loves her princess table and chairs set!
What a cheeseball!
A pretty Hawaiian flower from Auntie Lisa and new sweater knit by Grandma Gifford.
Ayda has recently been calling Mimi her "best friend" -- she also likes to pretend that she's Wendy and Mimi is Peter Pan. Nana and Papa's bed is the ship and either Daddy or Papa is Captain Hook. Who's Tinkerbell? Miles the chihuahua of course!
Mama and Ayda get down to business and whip up a cake in the cutest little kitchen in town -- thanks to Papa.
