Brain Freeze!

I had my first experience with brain freeze -- aka an ice-cream headache this past weekend. We all went out to City Park Grille in Old Town for Great Grandma's 81st birthday dinner. The restaurant didn't have a microwave so Aunt Sally fed me my berries slightly thawed. They were so good I couldn't get enough -- until I got brain freeze. My body froze and my hands shook! Mama and Sally laughed but I didn't think it was funny. Luckily it didn't last very long....

Little Bunny Foo Foo

Mimi bought me these adorable bunny ears at Target for just $1.00!

I didn't even try to pull them off my head at all! I'm no fool -- I know how cute I looked.

On pajama Sunday I helped Nana sew. She is making me a cute summer outfit. I was helping her with the elastic.

We listened to Kenny Rogers and talked and sang. Nana is really good company. Papa was working on the bathroom all day but he came out to see me every so often. I've been all about Papa lately. He's just so silly!

Valentine's Day Party

So my daycare had a Valentine's Day Party. I wore my red corduroy pants with the white snowflakes for the occasion. Mom, Dad, Nana and Papa all came. Mimi had to teach class and couldn't make it. :(

This is a photo of Nana and I playing with the fun magnet board. As you can see she was dressed in red for the party, too! I was not in a good mood because I was sick. The next day I had a fever and was all sweaty after my naps. I wanted Mama to hold me all day.

A for Ayda

Mimi's friend Kathryn got me this cute onesie from the University of Alabama when I was just a newborn. Now I need to know how to say "ROLL TIDE!" -- maybe Kat will teach me the next time she comes to Maine for a visit.

Just look at my thunder thighs! I have the strongest legs around. I think it's so funny when I throw my hands up over my head in a melodramatic fashion. I crack myself up!

Check out my standing skills. I have been practicing. I like to stand and hold on to things more than I like practicing my crawling technique.

Swimming Fiasco!

I thought it would be fun to take Ayda to the pool at the new Rec Center on campus this weekend. They have a great kiddie pool that is only a foot deep with a fun, non threatening fountain in the middle. Ayda loved going in the pool with Jennie and John this summer and I thought she'd love it. I thought wrong.

Nana and I got her undressed and put on some plastic pants. Nana carried her into the kiddie pool and to our amazement she cried. I tried to take her into the other end of the pool while Nana swam around in the whirlpool. Ayda clung to me like her life depended on it. I dipped her little toes in the water and she screamed.

Some more kids came in to go swimming so I took Ayda back to the kiddie pool, thinking she'd like to watch the other kids. Nana splashed her by accident and she howled. What happened to the little water monkey from the summer? Amazed and disappointed we put her clothes back on and Ayda delighted herself by slapping and touching the faux wood picnic table located at the edge of the pool -- big crocodile tears still resting on her cheeks.

What a party pooper!

Pajama Sunday!

Pajama Sunday is my favorite day of the week. Everyone stays in their p.j's an extra long time.

I'm sitting on Papa's legs in this photo. Check out his crazy pajama pants! Nana made them for him for christmas. I think they are bright and colorful! My yellow p.j's are really soft. I love that I get to wear them most of the day.

Stuff I Like To Chew On...

I like to chew on all sorts of things -- not just cookies and crackers.

My froggie is one of my favorite toys. Not only is he smooshy, he's a pretty color.

Nana & Papa got new phones. I had to try them out...

I chew on my tongue a lot. I think this picture is really funny!

Cookies!

Since I have 6 teeth I can now eat cookies! It takes me a while, and I usually get it all over my face, but they're delicious. Sometimes I share them with Roxy but Mom says that's gross and discourages it.

I also really love Ritz crackers. Now that I have a high chair I can sit up at the table with Mama and Daddy and eat stuff, too. I like that!

Hello Goodbye

I'm learning how to wave to people! It seems like such a silly little thing -- a flick of the wrist really -- but everyone seems to love it! I'm also getting really good at this clapping thing. Now if I could just figure out how to crawl...
